About the organization

FP&A Specialist belongs to the Finance and Accounting (F&A) department, which is leading several projects such as fundraising, audit firm assignment and partnership with banks on top of daily accounting and operation tasks.  F&A is formed with 5 accounting staffs under CFO's leadership.  FP&A Specialist is a newly established role and directly reports to CFO as an individual contributor.

Responsibilities

FINANCIAL PLANNING & BUDGETING:

  • Lead the development of comprehensive financial forecasts, reports, and analyses
  • Participate in development of the corporation's plans and programs as a strategic partner to the team
  • Provide timely, accurate, and insightful reporting on financial matters.
  • Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, the introduction of new programs/strategies, and regulatory action. Provide financial analysis of business considerations and plans.
  • Develop credibility for the finance group by providing timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends in order to assist the senior executives in performing their responsibilities.
  • Leads financial reviews by business and functional staff, including revenue, expense, and headcount variance analysis, linking financial results to business drivers and recommending actions to support cost reduction and margin improvement goals
  • Work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders across multiple businesses and functions
  • Prepare materials for quarterly Board of Directors meetings and letters for shareholders
  • Leads ad-hoc projects to achieve global FP&A synergies and simplify processes

 

Aside from main responsibilities above, you will be involved in F&A projects and expected to collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to accomplish the company’s objective.

Requirements

  • At least 5-year experience in FP&A
  • Thorough understanding of accounting principles and operations
  • Exceptional financial modeling skills
  • Strong Skills with Microsoft Excel, Power Point and Word
  • Analytical skills and strong operational focus
  • Enjoys working in a fast-paced team with strong ownership
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills both written and verbal in Japanese and English for communication with offshore teams

  • Payment processing or banking industry experience is a plus, but not required
  • Masters degree (MBA) or CPA equivalent is preferred, but not required
  • Experience in ERP system, Oracle Net Suite is preferred, but not required
