job boards/communities
  • TokyoDev: job board for foreign devs.
  • JapanDev: job board for foreign devs and tech people.
  • LinkedIn: big, well known job board (sort by new, in japan).
  • Indeed.jp: big, well known job board common in japan (sort by new). More noise than signal, but still good to look.
  • CareerForum.net: hosts of boston career forum, big annual event every november with tons of jobs by foreign companies with a office in Japan, as well as up and coming Japanese companies. Also has events year round in other locations. Targeted towards bilinguals. Make sure you click in both Online and the actual companies list for each career forum to see all job postings (they are not the same). Though not it's intention, you can register for career forums and apply even if you don't end up going and still get interviews - just make sure to confirm if you need to be present with the JD before doing so.
  • Findy: tech-focused job board with higher signal to noise ratio
  • Track Jobs: basically leetcode your way to (at least) an interview. make sure to select right category (新卒/中途) when browsing. they're not that hard on average last time I tried, but can definetly still get leetcode hard-esque questions.
  • θ»’θ·γƒ‰γƒ©γƒ•γƒˆ: a pretty interesting site where companies have to offer you the salary before you go into an interview. as a consequence of this, you need to fill out a pretty detailed profile and get it approved before you can participate in these drafts. geared for more experienced tech folks.
  • Ask HN: Who's Hiring?: Awesome monthly thread on news.ycombinator.com with lots of companies, some hiring globally remote. Just Google "Ask HN: Who's Hiring? (Month Year)" to find the thread.
