Team Mission

• The Work Team at Mercari was newly formed in April 2023 with the goal of launching a new HR-related business. We plan to provide Mercari’s users with new value centered around the concept of work in order to embody our group mission to circulate all forms of value to unleash the potential in all people.
• The potential of our target market is huge, and we anticipate that with further growth this business can become a significant pillar of Mercari Group.
• We aim to extensively leverage Mercari Group's assets to launch a new business from scratch and grow it rapidly.

Work Responsibilities 

• Leading the initial launch of a product as part of a new project in the HR domain
• Selecting technologies and creating system architecture and specifications
• Designing and implementing APIs using Google Cloud Platform and Go

Unique Challenges 

• Our business is directly linked to Mercari Group’s mission to circulate all forms of value to unleash the potential in all people.
• As this is a new business and team made up of a select few, you will be expected to take on a broad range of responsibilities.
• This is a challenging position that will require you to develop a new business while utilizing the breadth of assets owned by Japan’s largest marketplace app, but a rewarding one that will have a big global impact if successful.
  
  

Qualifications

• Required Experience/Skills
• Shared belief in the mission and values of Mercari Group and its various companies
• Knowledge of and experience in web application development
• Experience designing schemas and creating efficient queries for databases (RDB, NoSQL, etc.)
• Experience operating web applications and conducting performance tuning, knowledge of security
• Experience selecting middleware and designing software architecture
• Ability to take ownership and lead the software development process

• Preferred Experience/Skills
• xperience developing and operating services using Go, Typescript, and Google Cloud Platform
• Experience developing and operating large-scale, high traffic systems
• Experience establishing new services and tackling the challenges in the growth phase of a service
• Experience leading or managing developers and experience improving the development process
• Experience in statistical data analysis

• Language
  Either of the following is required:
• a. Japanese: Proficient (CEFR - C1)
