Description 

Rapyuta Robotics is an ETH Zurich startup headquartered in Tokyo and operates with a vision to become the global leader in making robots more accessible. We lead the pick-assist AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robots) market in Japan and are backed by Goldman Sachs, Sony and Yaskawa as investors.  

In a global hub in Chennai, you will be part of a team applied mathematicians, computer scientists, and robotics engineering focusing on pushing the performance boundaries of our ASRS solution: from multi-robot path planning to inventory slotting optimization. For more details see here 

Responsibilities  

  • Design and refine multi-robot route planning and task assignment strategies to ensure efficient navigation and improved performance 
  • Develop and implement algorithms for optimal slotting algorithms to enhance retrieval speed and system efficiency 
  • Develop and implement optimization algorithms for structural elements, including picking stations, elevators, and charging stations. 
  • Collaborate with product managers, robotics engineers and software developers to integrate solutions into the ASRS system 
  • Analyze system performance with business analysts and logistics solution specialists to identify areas for improvement and implement data-driven enhancements 
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in Operations Research and Applied Mathematics to apply innovative solutions to our ASRS system 

Requirements

 

  • Advanced degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or a related field 
  • Strong background in optimization techniques, mathematical modeling, and algorithm development 
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or C++ 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment 
  • Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex concepts to cross-functional teams
