TEAM
The Toyota Woven City is a fully connected ecosystem powered by hydrogen fuel cells and several energy storage devices to be built at the base of Mt. Fuji in Japan. It is envisioned as a ‘living laboratory’ and ‘ever-evolving,’ incorporating different types of the latest technologies. At the same time, it is also ‘human-centric,’ that is, it will keep people safe and comfortable.

Toyota Motor Corporation has been involved in a variety of technological development in the robotics, energy, and automotive domains for a long time. Our team will leverage Toyota’s hardware expertise in these fields to create new value by developing software on top of this.
Our team will develop services that are important to the city. As a first party developer, we will also build a foundation upon which third-party partners can participate. Therefore, we are responsible for not just the applications but also the core software and capabilities.

Our team consists of many experienced members with international work experience. We aim to be open minded as we create a new culture with members from different backgrounds and nationalities. Our global team works with the Toyota Motor Corporation and the Toyota Research Institute in North America to develop our technologies and products.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for engineers with a passion about developing and operating the city-level energy aggregation system used in daily life in Woven City. With hands-on experiences and knowledge about VPP regulations , energy equipment, energy management and demand response mechanism, software development etc., you are expected:
・to develop backend systems with traceability between product requirements, functional specifications and codes.
・to work closely with various specialists and other service development departments.
・You will report to the lead of function and the work style is hybrid (office and remote).

私たちは、ウーブンシティの日常生活で使われる都市レベルの規模のエネルギーアグリゲーションシステムの開発と運用について、情熱を持ったエンジニアを募集しています。ソフトウェア開発に関する実務経験と深い知識を持って、バーチャルパワープラント(VPP)システムの要件や必要機能およびコードのトレーサビリティを確保した開発を進めることが期待されています。また、様々な分野のスペシャリストや他のサービス開発部門と密接に連携することも期待されています。


RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design software for Virtual Power Plant systems with partners
  • Analyze and manage software requirements based on requirements and perform system integration.
  • Work with software engineers to define functions specifications, interfaces, data pipelines
  • Work with algorithm engineers to lead the DevOps process of the prediction functions, optimization functions of Virtual Power Plant system
  • Perform software document, code and test reports reviews.
  • Build and promote a process to improve specification documents and code
  • バーチャルパワープラント(VPP)システムに関するソフトウェアの仕様を関係者とともに定義する。
  • ビジネス要件からソフトウェア要件を分析・管理する。
  • ソフトウェアエンジニアと協働し、機能群の仕様やインターフェース、データパイプラインを定義する。
  • アルゴリズムエンジニアと協働し、バーチャルパワープラント(VPP)システムにおける予測機能もしくは運用最適化機能の開発、実証(PoC)を主導する。
  • ソフトウェア文書やコード、テストレポートをレビューする。
  • 仕様書やコードの継続的な改訂のプロセスを構築し、推進する。


  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 3+ years of experience in creating and reviewing software design documents in the upstream process including requirements definition and design
  • 5+ years of project experience involving full software development life cycle, including requirement definition, design, coding standards, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
  • Proficiency in language skills for Japanese daily conversation.
  • Passion to develop English skill
  • 上流工程(要件定義、設計)のソフトウェア設計書作成・レビューの経験3年以上
  • ソフトウェア開発ライフサイクル全体のプロジェクト経験5年以上(要件定義、設計、コーディング、ソース管理、ビルドプロセス、テスト、運用を含む)
  • 日本語での日常会話のスキル
  • 英語のスキル向上への意欲


  • NICE TO HAVES:
  • Bachelor’s degree in information engineering, data science, computer science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with collaborative workflows such as Agile and Scrum.
  • 3+ years of Experience with cloud technologies including micro-service architecture
  • 3+ years of Experience with software development with at least one modern language such as Python, C++, C#, Java, Golang, Node.js, Ruby.
  • Capability of algorithm design, Implementation, evaluation, tuning and reporting
  • Proficiency in business level English and Japanese.
  • 情報工学、データサイエンス、コンピュータサイエンス、もしくはそれらに関連する技術領域や同等の経験を持つ学士
  • アジャイル開発、スクラム開発のプロジェクト経験
  • マイクロサービスアーキテクチャを含むクラウド テクノロジーの経験3年以上
  • Python、C++、C#、Java、Golang、Node.js、Ruby などのモダン言語を少なくとも1つ使用したソフトウェア開発経験3年以上
  • アルゴリズムの設計、実装、評価、チューニング、レポーティング能力
  • ビジネスレベルの英語と日本語
